GRICH
Our project uses music and digital media to help distract local youths away from strong temptations of gang culture. We provide music production and performance opportunities to get youths focusing on positive music representations of their experiences.
About Us
Throughout our project delivery, we focus on using music formats that our beneficiaries are in tuned to. Participants will be encouraged to apply these music types with positive and non-violent lyrical and visual content. This is to bring the beneficiaries into a positive mindset, in a forum that is usually associated around negativity.
Our main activities are:
- Music creation & production
- Music performance:
- Music visuals:
- Community discussion platforms:
Services
The beneficiaries we are trying to reach are primarily from disadvantaged housing estates around the boroughs of Brent and Harrow. Throughout our delivery we include young people in our decision making, thereby ensuring they are fully able to benefit from our work.
Music Creation & Production
Participants will learn how to take the framework of Grime & Drill beats, but change delivery content to positive messages.
Music Performance
Our project gives young people performance development support as their spaces for live events have been severely curtailed over time.
Music Visuals
Turning negative music video outputs into productions encouraging positive community contributions.
Community Discussion Platforms
Allowing youths to debate issues using their music productions as topics, replacing violent acts to resolve issues.
